Day 1 with Karen Overton, the Quilt Rambler

You are in for a treat this week; Studio 180 Design is hosting the Evening Elegance blog hop with several of our talented Certified Instructors. Each day two designs from our free BlockBuster program will be showcased in my signature collection, Twilight Chic.

One of the secrets to constructing a successful sampler quilt is using common fabrics for each of the different block designs. Hopefully you’ll be inspired to use a fabric collection from your stash, or consider seeking out those Twilight Chic fabrics at your nearest quilt shop. Make sure to check with them to see if they’ve ordered the collection!

Today Karen Overton of the Quilt Rambler will be introducing you to the first two blocks of our sampler:  BlockBuster #1 - Ohio Star Variation, and BlockBuster #21 – Around the Block. Hop on over to her blog to get the full scoop, and to see her two blocks done up in Twilight Chic

Your CI Host for the Day:

Karen Overton, The Quilt Rambler

Karen is from Bacliff, Texas, and became a Studio 180 Design Certified Instructor in 2017. She is a teacher, quilt designer, pattern writer and amazing longarm quilter. In true rambler fashion, Karen loves “talking quilts” through her blog. There she shares her stories about her adventures as an Island Batik Ambassador, travels to quilt shows, tours of quilt shops, as well as her take on everyday experiences that generally involve quilting, God, and family! Plus she throws in a few tips and tricks of the trade for good measure!

She has published several of her own patterns for quilts that she designed for Island Batik; Illuminated Journey, Geese over Galveston Bay, and Fiesta Stars to name a few. Be sure to consider them when choosing a design for your next quilting project.

Schedule:

Don’t forget to check back here daily to learn more about the next two blocks. Each presenter will be revealing construction hints and tips as well as their thoughts about all things quilt related. Keep up with who is posting using the schedule below.

As always, thanks for reading!
