Welcome to the Squiggles, Dots and Lines blog hop! We’re excited to share our newest collection with Island Batik. This playful line of fabric features beautiful blues and greens with accents of purple and magenta. With fun names like Dotty Grid, Get to the Point, Pins and Needles, and Crosshatch, we think you’ll love this whimsical gathering of fabrics as much as we do.

The process of choosing the right prints and colors for a collection is always fun. For this one we had so many great choices it was hard to narrow it down to just twenty-two of our favorites!

For every collection we create we choose designs we think will complement the colors and prints of the fabrics. This includes new Studio 180 Design patterns and patterns from some of our Certified Instructors. We’ll let you know all about these new designs during the blog hop.

In the meantime, we have some gorgeous projects from some of our current patterns that we reimagined in the colorful Squiggles, Dots and Lines fabrics. Grand Illusion is one of our favorite traditional quilt projects. The original quilt was done in muted colors. We absolutely love this new version in blues and greens!

The sashing in this quilt makes it look as if the blocks are set on point, but they aren’t. It uses just three of the fundamental tools and looks complex but is really simple. Blaze has given it her stamp of approval!

One of our most loved patterns by both quilters and Studio 180 employees is Snowdrops. This beautiful pattern was inspired by Snowdrop flowers popping out from under the snow. We were waiting for the perfect collection to remake this quilt! The blues and greens of Squiggles, Dots and Lines holds true to the original vision of the design.

Of course, we love to make large quilts in our fabrics, but this collection is also perfect for smaller projects. We’ve made some pillows and small wall hanging projects using technique sheets.

Technique sheets are a fun way to expand on the use of your tools and these pillows make great companions for the larger quilts.

What would a blog hop be without other blogs! Next week several Certified Instructors will be sharing their Squiggles, Dots and Lines projects. We challenged them to come up with ideas using any of the technique sheets available for the tools. You won’t want to miss these fun takes on their favorite tools and techniques!

Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram! We will be posting each day next week with links to the CI blogs as well as more great pictures of Squiggles, Dots and Lines. We’ll also be talking about some of the brand new quilts and designs that are coming soon! The fabrics are arriving in shops now.
