Have fun with this great strip pieced project that comes together lickety-split! You will combine a new technique with Quad 60 units to create fun spinning stars and floating triangles. This is a great project to use with your pre-cut 2½” strips, just make sure that your strips are at least 42” in length to make the technique and cutting work.
Are you ready to dive into the world of 60 degree quilting designs? Our Star 60™ tool brings the same concept of oversizing and trimming down into the realm of 60 degree shapes. We begin with a basic Star 60 unit, containing a diamond and two small triangles in 17 different size options, and then team this unit up with a multitude of additional shapes to create an array of amazing 60 degree quilt projects.
Of course, you will find all the same benefits you have come to expect from every Studio 180 Design tool. There are multiple size options, oversizing and trim down for better accuracy, fine lines for higher precision, right and left hand instructions, free videos, supporting patterns, incredible design options, ease of use with other patterns, and an increased success rate for every level quilt maker.
We love fancy diamonds and bet you do too, so thought we would add them to our Star 60 units. You can make this variation in 17 unit sizes, from 2” up to 18” in 1” increments. If you are making those units into stars, that would be 4” to 36” stars in 2” increments. This technique is a bit of a challenge but what a result!
The Hollow Cube 60 technique sheet is a great companion for your Star 60 tool! Create some spectacular projects with this amazing technique that gives you the look of light shining through a hollow cube. This technique creates a hexagon that can be added to any 60° project to add the illusion of a multi-dimensional block to your quilt. What fun!!
We love using this simple unit to add additional interest to Star 60 designs. This is a great, easy to construct, basic unit that we are using more and more as we continue to work with the Star 60® tool. The unit you make with this technique sheet is sized the same way as the Star 60 unit, so if you want your Capped 60 unit to match up with a 5” Star 60 unit, you’d make a 5” Capped 60 unit.
