The Rapid Fire© Hunter’s Star tool and technique allow for streamlined construction and precision trim down and thus results in ease and accuracy when making these traditionally difficult blocks. There are multiple sizes on each tool, clearly illustrated step by step instructions, design layout options, and a “basic recipe” included to get quilters started on their first set of 16 blocks. The "basic recipe" has over 40 layout variations which can be seen in our Basic Recipe Razzle Dazzle photo gallery. This allows quilters to customize their projects right from the beginning so that each person can achieve that individualized look they so desire. Free video demonstrations are available on line, and a full length DVD that is loaded with additional hints, tips, and design ideas can also be purchased to enhance the included printed instructions. A must have tool if a Hunter’s Star project is on your “Bucket List”!
A larger version of the Petite Hunter's Star tool, this ruler uses the same easy strip piecing steps and same accurate trim down processes, but it results in blocks more appropriate for those larger quilt projects. The tool includes step by step illustrated instructions, charts for future projects, and a “basic recipe” included to get quilters started on their first set of 16 blocks. The "basic recipe" has over 40 layout variations which can be seen in our Basic Recipe Razzle Dazzle photo gallery. The Large Star ruler makes the star points larger than those made with the Petite Star ruler thus giving those 7” and 8” blocks a slightly different look from blocks made with the Petite Star tool. So if full size quilts (twin, queen and king) are your passion, this is the tool that will help you make them quicker, more accurately and with much less stress!

SueNami is an unusual Hunter’s Star medallion-style layout. It was Studio 180’s Sue Tucker’s very first quilt! It was also a 2009 Vermont Quilt Festival Triple Award Winner: Blue Ribbon, Best Adult Beginner and Viewer’s Choice. A spectacular project that is actually easier to construct than it appears!
A terrific pattern that can be made with from a fabric stash! Simply choose strong light and strong dark fabrics and add a terrific couple of tools and you’re on your way toward making this spectacular quilt. Deb’s Rapid Fire Hunter’s Star tool and techniques were used to make the center and her Tucker Trimmer 1 tool to make the pieced border. Much simpler to sew than you might think!
This quilt was designed in conjunction with New York Times best selling author Marie Bostwick for her novel A Thread So Thin. A spectacular project, it uses a collection of hand dyed batik fat quarters and Deb’s Rapid Fire Hunter’s Star tool and techniques. A magnificent quilting job turns the quilt into a show stopper. A quilt made for a college bound student, this knockout project is actually made from warm flannel fabrics. Using Deb’s Rapid Fire Hunter’s Star - Large Star tool and techniques it can be made quickly and accurately. It might even entice them to make their bed once in a while!
This project uses a collection of fat quarters (or scraps) in medium and light values to create the background and a strong accent color to create the stars. Using Deb’s Rapid Fire Hunter’s Star tool and technique it is easy, fast, and accurate. It would be an excellent project for flannel fabrics as well as traditional 100% quilter’s cotton fabrics.
What looks like 8-pointed stars floating in a black background are actually Hunter’s Star blocks made using the Rapid Fire Hunter’s Star - Petite Star tool. Each of the three projects use the same pieces, but their different arrangements give them distinct personalities.
A quilt made for a fisherman with some great fish fabric and the Rapid Fire Hunter’s Star tool and technique. The full size quilt is easy and fast using Deb’s methods. Change the fabrics and it would make a perfect gift for anyone in your family as well.
This exciting design includes an unexpected feature – the addition of Hunter’s Star blocks around an interesting, more traditional style block. Generally, a Hunter’s Star block is used only with other Hunter’s Star blocks in a quilt, but we love the way Sarah has added them here for an unusual and interesting twist, and we think many of you will too. The limited number of fabrics and careful color placement create a variety of secondary patterns that really come to life in this design. We hope that you have as much fun making this quilt as we did.
Put the Pop in the already adored Hunter’s Star! The Corner Pop tool helps you create a fun alternating block illusion. This quilt design works wonderfully with yardage, scraps, or fat quarters. Don’t be afraid to use some of those large floral prints, you may be surprised at the unexpected scrappiness! You’ll use our Rapid Fire Hunter’s Star - Large Star and Corner Pop to construct this energetic quilt.
